Mamie’s Schoolhouse and the Inverness County Centre for the Arts are celebrating the first commercial harvest of natural dyes in Cape Breton!
The Schoolhouse will be holding an exhibition in the ICCA from August 12th to October 19th, with several demonstrations and workshops along the way.
Spinning, natural dye, and weaving demonstrations will be held during the exhibit on Saturday August 24th, 1-4 PM, and Saturday October 19th, 1-4 PM. Attendees will have an opportunity to observe skills involved in the production of the World Wide Weave, speak to local artisans, and try it themselves.
There will also be a workshop on October 11th, 10-4 PM. It will focus on some of the three plants being harvested, depending on the harvest. Details can be found at:
