Exhibition Proposal

The Inverness County Centre for the Arts invites artists to submit proposals for solo exhibitions for our upcoming exhibition season. We welcome proposals from established and emerging artists who present a strong, cohesive body of work.

The deadline for 2027 submissions is November 15th, 2026.

Proposal submissions will be accepted through email to sivan@invernessarts.com with the subject line: Exhibition Proposal 2027

Proposal Submission Criteria
Proposals must include the following information in order to be considered. All information must be submitted in a single PDF. Hard copy submissions will not be considered, unless special accommodations are requested.

1. Exhibition Proposal
Your exhibition proposal should describe the exhibition you are proposing for the Inverness County Centre for the Arts. Please include:

  • Proposed Exhibition Title

  • Exhibition Description: A brief overview of the proposed exhibit, including its central themes, concepts, and ideas.

  • Description of the Work: Describe the body of work you intend to exhibit, including the medium/media, approximate number of works, and any relevant details about the presentation or installation.

  • Exhibition Goals: Explain what you hope the exhibition will communicate or explore and how the individual works relate to one another.

  • Installation Requirements: Please identify any special installation requirements, including dimensions, projection or audio equipment, wall or ceiling mounting, floor space, or other considerations.

Recommended length: 500 - 700 words

2. Artist Statement

Please provide a current artist statement describing your artistic practice. Your statement should provide context for your work and may discuss:

  • Your artistic practice and areas of interest

  • The ideas, themes, or questions that inform your work

  • Your creative process and choice of materials or media

  • How your current or proposed body of work fits within your broader practice

  • Relevant influences, experiences, or research

Recommended length: 250 - 500 words

3. Supporting Images

Please submit 8-12 high-quality images that represent the proposed exhibitions and/or your current body of work. Do not submit files in any type of software presentation (ie. PowerPoint).

For each image, please provide:

  • Artist name

  • Title

  • Year

  • Medium/materials

  • Dimensions

  • Image number
